Dillard 6-12 Uniform Information

To assist with the transition process, all sixth through eighth grade students are expected to wear navy blue, black, gray, or white polo (collared) shirts and khaki, navy blue or black bottoms with black or brown belts at the waist. Girls may also wear khaki, navy, or black pants as well as expected to wear navy blue, black, gray, or white polo (collared) shirts. *No jeans or tights are allowed and pants must be secure at the waist. Acceptable footwear are sneakers and dress shoes *No open toe shoes, slides, or flip-flops are allowed.

The Student Transportation and Fleet Services Department is committed to the safe and efficient transportation of all Broward County Public Schools’ bus riders in compliance with federal, state and local guidelines. This department consists of District Transportation Operations supporting its five Transportation Terminals located throughout Broward County, Florida, as well as Vehicle Maintenance.

site if they have any questions about a student’s transportation prior to the first day of school.

There are just under 1,000 school buses used by Broward District Schools on daily routes, transporting more than 73,000 students to and from school, and driving more than 16 million miles to 234 locations.  This department collaborates with all schools to communicate transportation information to students and parents.

Student Enrichment Camps Begin Feb. 11

The Dillard High School 6 -12  Saturday School Enrichment & Tutoring Camp starts, Saturday, February 11, 2017 from

9:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon.  ALL Dillard High School 6-12 students are STRONGLY encouraged to attend this camp as reading, writing, and/or mathematical skills will be reinforced.  Let’s continue to prepare for our upcoming state assessment tests.

Students should report to the cafeteria upon their arrival. Free lunch will be available. See you there!!!!!

DHS Faculty Votes To Explore New Scheduling Options For 2017-2018 School Year

As we begin to plan ahead for the 2017-18 school year, the faculty of Dillard High School 6-12 has voted to explore other school schedule options for next year.  Most of the district high schools changed this year to a 4X4 A/B schedule.  On the 4X4 A/B schedule, students take four 90-minute classes a day. The classes meet every other day for a total of eight periods. This would be one of the options considered. The changes being considered would be to support teaching and learning.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the school at 743-322-0800.  Ask to speak to  your student’s school counselor.

Florida Shines Bright Future Scholarship Information Now Online

Florida Shines is a website where high school students can log in and check their Bright Futures Status and GPA.  Please follow the instructions below:

Note: the Student Log-In is the student’s external number which may be either their Social Security Number with an X at the end or their Student ID (06……..)

Broward County Public Schools Update on Hurricane Matthew

Today, Wednesday, October 5th, Broward County Public Schools evening classes, after school activities, clubs and events are CANCELLED.

Aftercare program services are available today for all families who normally participate in the program. However, parents are encouraged to pick their children up early in preparation for the impending weather conditions.

All District schools and offices will be CLOSED on Thursday, October 6 and Friday, October 7, 2016.

Given the uncertainty regarding the potential impact of Hurricane Matthew to our community – Broward County Public Schools is CANCELLING all activities and events for Saturday, October 8 and Sunday, October 9, 2016. This includes field trips, facility leases, clubs, competitions, etc.

District operations for Monday, October 10, 2016, will depend on the District’s assessment of the impact of Hurricane Matthew.

The District will continue to provide information updates via a variety of communication channels, including the District’s website (browardschools.com), robocalls, mobile app notifications, social media (on Twitter @browardschools and on Facebook facebook.com/browardschools) and through BECON-TV and the local media. The District will also continue to update its Information Hotline, 754-321-0321, with the latest information.

Performing and Visual Arts College Fairs give colleges, universities, festivals, conservatories and other postsecondary institutions the opportunity to meet with thousands of college-bound students and their parents.
For the growing number of students pursuing a college degree in music, theater, art, dance, and other related disciplines, this event offers a unique opportunity to get a head start on planning for college.

REGISTER NOW

Student registration is an easier and much faster way for colleges and universities to get your information so that they can follow up with you after the fair. When you register, you enter your contact information, academic interests, graduation year and your high school and then receive your own personalized barcode. Once you print this barcode out and take it to the fair, college representatives can scan them as a way to retrieve this information from you, eliminating the need to fill out information cards.
