On the day of the scheduled audition, students will participate in a 1 hour dance class covering ballet and a general analysis of movement. Students must be on time! Students should be prepared to perform a 1 minute solo in any style of dance. (Please bring your own performance music) Additionally, students are required to bring a 100 word (typed) essay explaining why the student is seeking admission to DCA and what their professional goals are.
Students must dress in dance clothes as follows:
Men: Black tights, jazz pants or sweat pants, socks, ballet shoes or jazz oxfords. Long hair must be tied back. No jewelry.
Ladies: Leotard, pink convertible tights, ballet slippers, and hair pulled completely off face and neck in traditional bun. No jewelry.
